$6m worth of smuggled goods ceased

According to a report, customs officers have seized $6 million worth of electronic goods in an anti-smuggling crackdown in Tuen Mun.

They found five men moving goods from a van onto a high-power speedboat at the landing steps on Ho Hoi Street yesterday.

The suspects fled in the speedboat when the officers took action. A search is ongoing.

Eighty-two cartons containing 1,147 tablet computers, 599 digital cameras, 114 camera lenses, and 8,250 used mobile phones were seized.
