Public warned against two See's Candies products

Beware of Milk Raisins and Dark Raisins.

According to a report, two products manufactured by See's Candies in the US - Milk Raisins and Dark Raisins - have been found to contain allergens, tree nuts and eggs, which were not declared on their label.

The Centre for Food Safety today advised consumers allergic to tree nuts or eggs to refrain from eating the products. The trade should also stop selling them immediately.

Upon notification by the US Food & Drug Administration that the products were being recalled in America and that the affected batches have been imported to Hong Kong, the centre contacted the local dealer and alerted the trade of the incident.

The official dealer said the affected products were only available for sale at three See's Candies retail stores in Hong Kong and they have already been taken off the shelf.

The centre’s staff have conducted checks at the retail stores and, so far, no affected products have been found.
