Hikari Japanese Cuisine unveils contemporary dining treat at Henry House

According to a release, contemporary Japanese restaurant Hikari Japanese Cuisine is launched at Henry House in Causeway Bay on June 24.

Formerly named Kirala Kitchen, the new concept presents a modern twist on traditional Japanese cuisine, focusing on prime quality market-fresh seafood at value-for-money prices.

Minimalist ‘wa modern’ interior design reflects the simplistic mood in wood and bamboo with harmonious brown and white tones. Hikari Japanese Cuisine presents a newly created menu by its master chef with dishes that are "authentic but not traditional".

Signature dishes include slow-cooked Japanese Onsen Egg, served with Parma Ham on a chilled bonito flake jelly, and Seasonal Assorted Appetizer consists of 3 types of decent appetizer like seafood tartar, homemade tofu with sea urchin as well as slow-cooked duck breast.

The next on the menu is regional specialty of Gifu in central Japan, Seafood Grill on Hoba Leaf which abalone, scallops and white fish are grilled with hoba miso and wrapped in hoba leaf. The palatable hoba miso further enhances the freshness of the seafood.

Roast Fatty Tuna with Sea Urchin Sauce combines crispy toro, fresh sourced from Kagoshima, with the sweet, aromatic flavour of sea urchin from Hokkaido.

Bottarga with Cold Noodle is a modern specialty twinning mullet roe from Italy with traditional Japanese Inaniwa Udon. Golden Egg served with Beef Sukiyaki Sauce features deep fried onsen egg with chewy texture with beef in Sukiyaki sauce.

Among a full menu of sashimi and sushi, Seasonal Fish Tartar Sushi Rolls are sushi roll with seasonal seafood in tempura style for a unique dual texture; while Seasonal-selected Japanese Rice in Hot Pot includes seasonal seafood like Sakura shrimps are cooked complements uniquely rich, full bodied Hokkaido mountain rice in Japanese Rice Hot Pot, ideally for three or four to share.

To complete the contemporary Japanese dining experience, seasonal homemade ice-cream is a dessert specialty, along with almond tofu pudding and chocolate cake.
