Ms. Wong will spearhead the institutional business in the region along with Jon Allen, Head of Institutional, South East Asia.

According to a release, international asset manager Threadneedle Investments announces the appointment of June Wong to the position of Regional Vice Chairman, CEO Hong Kong, and Global Consultant Relations, reflecting her significant experience in the institutional market. Ms Wong will support Asia Pacific Chairman Raymundo Yu and Head of Distribution, Campbell Fleming, as Threadneedle undertakes a substantial growth drive in the Asian region.

Raymundo Yu, Chairman, Asia Pacific said: “I am delighted that June has chosen to join Threadneedle as Regional Vice Chairman, CEO Hong Kong and leading our efforts with Global Consultant Relations, and I am looking forward to working with her as we build a truly client-focused institutional business across Asia Pacific.

She has particular depth of experience in mainland China, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong, all key markets for Threadneedle.

“June, along with Jon Allen (Head of Institutional, South East Asia), will spearhead our Institutional business in the region and I am confident that her extensive experience across consultant relationships, client-servicing, business development and marketing, combined with Threadneedle’s track record of outperformance across asset classes, will enable us to provide a world-class offering for institutional investors,” Mr Yu said.

Ms Wong joins Threadneedle from AllianceBernstein in Hong Kong, where she was Head of Institutions, Asia Ex-Japan. She was also an Executive Committee member, Asia Ex-Japan and a Board Member of AllianceBernstein Hong Kong Limited. Ms Wong joined AllianceBernstein in 2004 as Head of Institutions, North Asia. She managed a team of 10 staff, represented all asset classes including the full range of fixed income, equities and alternatives and was responsible for consultant relationships, business development, client service and marketing. She also led the overall China business development strategy for AllianceBernstein.

Prior to this, Ms Wong worked at Stirling Finance Limited, HSBC and Towers Perrin (Hong Kong) where she was Director, Head of Asset Consulting Services. Ms Wong has a Bachelor of Economics (Actuarial Studies) from Macquarie University in Australia. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and a Fellow Member of the Actuarial Society of Hong Kong.
