Tan Kong Khoon is Hong Leong Bank’s new CEO

He was former head of consumer banking at DBS Group Holdings Ltd.

Hong Leong Bank Bhd said Tan would oversee the transformation of the bank as it continues to evolve into a modern, relevant and leading bank in Malaysia and the region.

HLBB believes Tan will inject the new thinking and fresh ideas needed to implement innovative and modern strategies that will ensure it maintain its status as a leading bank in Malaysia and the region.

Tan, a 56-year-old Singaporean, will replace Yvonne Chia who retired last month after heading Malaysia’s fourth-largest lender by market value for the past decade.
