Visitors can enjoy 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi.
The Bank of East Asia, Limited has become the first bank in Hong Kong to join the Wi-Fi.HK scheme, providing free public Wi-Fi at several outlets in prime locations. Wi-Fi.HK is a collaborative scheme of the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and local industries to promote public Wi-Fi services in Hong Kong.
Launched in August 2014, the scheme currently includes over 19,000 free Wi-Fi hotspots in Hong Kong. Visitors can now enjoy 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi per day at BEA’s Main Branch SupremeGold Centre (Central), Causeway Bay Branch, Whampoa Garden Branch, and Shatin Plaza Branch by simply connecting their smartphone or mobile device to the “Wi-Fi.HK via BEA” network. No prior registration is required.
Mr. Vincent Hui, General Manager & Head of the Personal Banking Division of BEA commented, “We are delighted to be the first bank to join the Wi-Fi.HK scheme, which is helping reinforce Hong Kong’s international status as a highly connected city. The provision of free Wi-Fi allows our customers and other visitors to go online at our branches while experiencing BEA’s digital banking.” BEA plans to extend the Wi-Fi.HK service across more of its network in the near future.
