Hong Kong Business opens nominations for Made in Hong Kong and Designed in Hong Kong Awards 2019

Nominations will close on 11 January 2019.

Hong Kong Business is officially accepting nominations for the Made in Hong Kong Awards and Designed in Hong Kong Awards 2019 after successfully completing its inaugural edition at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong.

The awards programme is open to all Hong Kong-registered local and international manufacturing firms that produce game-changing business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) products.

The Made in Hong Kong Awards, whose past winners include Prenetics Limited, Morris Cookies (Asia) and The Dairy Farm, is an initiative hailing innovative products across industries that are manufactured in Hong Kong.

The Designed in Hong Kong Awards laud products that are conceptualised by a Hong Kong-based office but manufactured outside the territory. Past winners include Binatone Electronics International Limited, Venture Global Limited, MSENVY Corporation Limited and Sonne International Company Limited.

“We think it is very positive, encouraging, inspiring award event for design and manufacturing companies in Hong Kong,” said Jun Wong, Managing Director, MSENVY Corporation Limited. “Originally we didn’t plan to make the product in Hong Kong, but after the award, we are influenced and considering the possibility about “Made in Hong Kong” for this new brand.”

A panel of elite industry experts will judge the products based on branding, unique selling points, product effectivity, and customer satisfaction.

To be eligible for the awards, the product has to be manufactured by a Hong Kong-registered company and should have been publicly released over the last 24 calendar months.

Products which are launched prior to the said period can still be nominated as long as they have undergone recent improvements.

Manufacturing firms can choose from over 50 industry categories including apparel, architecture, building, computer hardware, electronics, energy & power, healthcare, hospitality, luxury, medical, pharmaceuticals, residential building, telecommunications and transportation amongst others.

Nomination is for free, but winning companies are obliged to attend the Awards Dinner on 4 April 2019 and book any of the winners' package options.
