Government suspends Shineford Engineering's registration

The six-month suspension takes effect 01 May.

According to a report, the Electrical & Mechanical Services Department suspended Shineford Engineering's registration as a lift contractor for six months from May 1.

As of yesterday, 26 contractors had been assigned to take over the company's 92 affected buildings. Forty-nine have already received quotations from other contractors, and the remaining 17 are inviting quotations.

Regarding the eight lifts maintained by Shineford which have been removed from service for failing to comply with regulations, five have resumed service after repair, while the remaining three have been taken over by other contractors.
